NMP 18 - Scripting

So I’m at the stage now where I should adapt the writing into a proper script with all the information that entails layout text who’s speaking, what’s happening on the screen.

I see the work as now developing into a more filmic piece, seeing as interlinked scenes possibly with stills but fear that that is too close to La Jetee so may have to use moving images shot as still to emphasise this (worry that may be a touch Acorn Antiques, I love that though so maybe it’s not so bad.)

First would be to get the voice right, if I’m trying to put a voice to it I need something slightly whiny maybe, something like Niles Crane from Frasier or deadpan like CJ from Reginald Perrin or maybe Leonard Rossiter himself, now you’re talking…

Thinking about the face of middling Sin, thinking something like Rossiter or pale and withdrawn or different?? Need to hire an actor to play the part of sin, maybe two, one to play the younger version and one to play an older version, to keep continuity they must either look or dress alike and be aligned in eyes maybe with a monologue over the top to show that they are the same just younger and older people..

There is also roles for Religion, Worship, vanity and 2 random people who say didn’t you used to be big… They will open appear on screen for about 30 seconds each so could try a casting through my friends….

Exciting that it’s taking shape..

Does raise one question though, what are the differences between New Media and Cinema? I fear I have made the piece into a script and I’m going to produce a short film, is that going to be ok?

Think the main answer to that is what the piece is trying to show and where is it going to be shown?

Maybe?

How it looks?

How it feels?

Budget?

Maybe need to explore this further….
