As we pass the halfway point of the year and head toward some new numbness, I’m starting to think about what my investigation is in regard to a placement into current society.
Mainly these have previously concentrated on my chosen avenues of ‘the regarding of photographies and what that means for the image’, but as I seek more of what is hidden, I realise that it absolutely cannot fail to address the broader-spectrum of needs such as:
Political. Body. Archive. Community. Placement. Maleness. Traditional. Roles. Contemporary. Othering. Output. Mundane. Banal. Performative. Identity. Uncanny. Queer. Idiosyncratic. Personal. Value. Love. Wishes. Stories. Estate. Legacy. Memories. Viewpoint. Loss. Colour. Support. Meaning. Loss.
These single words have at least two meanings, mostly more dependent on time and space, the contrary nature of being is something that should be encouraged and explored and not just through creation but through actions.
Goodbye Mum, thank you.
