NMP 5 - Dissemination

The obvious next step after making the work is the dissemination of it, after all one of the main concepts about making work is for it be seen and recognised?

Maybe/Maybe not

Initial thoughts were on the quality of the work, the naivety of my production methods may be judged in one of two ways ok or rubbish. I guess when this first came in for my photography, I was solely a photographer and had quite an interesting work based life so there was an interest and interesting images there, I had already reached a level of knowledge and sophistication that could come across in the imagery, not all was good but it had content, purpose and sometimes velleity.

After much deliberation and anxiety I decide to post, which then leads onto the next debate about which platform, YouTube too generalised and Vimeo too specialised for example, Ig not enough longevity as with Twitter..

I decide on Vimeo but there was a revisitation of the apprehension about the “naivety” of the work but in the end I realised I had to post otherwise I risk the fact that this will just become a vanity project.

Getting the edit right and the upload quality was one of the major tech issues I needed to address, the clipping of the end of the film as well is something I need to keep an eye on for future use.

Sharing the post has been an interesting journey; my presence on the Vimeo platform needs work to get it out there and seen, the comments have been dry and limited but at this stage that’s exactly what I need, personal reflection has been
