Semester 3 Final: Group
So here we are in this strange new world of lockdown amid the Covid19 pandemic, so a lot of work has been taken online, I have come at this from a teaching perspective and now I’m coming at in from a student perspective.
The first thing is that like anything new it takes time to get used to it, slightly clunky, you have to get used to the one voice idea, as in only one person can speak at one time otherwise nobody can hear anything at all, this was an idea I was taught on my teacher training! So funny how these things come around..
Also turn your microphone off when you’re not talking otherwise everyone can hear everything that’s going on in your near vicinity..
There was a group session today that inspired some ideas and thoughts that I will take forward, after a rethink I’d had the idea of exploring audiencing with clothing// clothing and comments but when I tried to voice this it came a little unstuck and the reaction from the other side of the screen was a bit of a nah.. It is difficult to see the reactions but had the very distinct feeling that it didn’t go down too well..
As was said I need a simple idea resolved, resolved to MA standard that is.
The next group session presented some ideas about images wanting to be kissed, who are my images for? Viability and method need to be looked at closely..
I’d still like to do something upon the power of photography and show this via photographs of social norms in abstract forms showing the fragility of these norms..
And I’d like to write about what makes photography good building on the above with the ideas of audiencing, abstract photography, it power to show and be dismissed and the state of photography now…
Wow that needs some work and condensing down into a proper paragraph..
I’m slowly coming to the realisation that I absolutely need the power of deadlines; I so want to create a written piece with 2 weeks to go so I can edit, reread etc but it doesn’t seem possible…
Dated around the 28th of April and the deadlines been extended to the 12th of May
