NMP 22 - Sound Collaborations

The main lesson to learn here is that don’t record a piece if you don't like the sound of your own voice recorded, now I know everyone says this but I have been editing my own voice for the past, well it feels like six months but has only been about four or five weeks and it’s got worse over time..

The piece itself is developed as a monologue now, I had planned to get somebody else to record the words for me but when I did, it didn't come back quite as planned, my fault as I needed to give more direction but (…and yes I’m sick of mentioning but it does play a part here) with the Covid19 lockdown, I could see the struggle in getting it back and forward if the piece needed to be adapted while complying with the lockdown conditions so I decided to use my own voice which has been an “interesting” thing, constantly jarring when working on the piece, needs must though, use of a dedicated sound recorder helped hugely, so much better quality than using the on camera mic.

I split the text into separate paragraph, recorded each one separately, that way to aid the editing and help to produce some natural stopping point I may have done this too much, like the way it flows into each other, I imagine Sin would be a very stop/startie character, so this all works together.

Future sound directions may include an obvious direction into music videos, as I do know plenty of recording artist, the aim would be produce some visuals and get some sound pointers, if nothing else will have content to share..
